Upon entering the shop, they first saw rows of enclosures filled with spirit beast cubs—antlered deer, spirit wolves, and even a tiny, bald griffin flapping its wings, trying to escape its enclosure.

For smaller families, however, bald griffins were an excellent choice.

The shop’s owner, Madam Chun, had just finished a deal and was relaxing in a reclining chair. Seeing new customers, she sighed in slight annoyance.

Wen Shu approached her politely and said, “Senior, we’d like to ask if you have any beast hair suitable for making a spirit brush.”

“A spirit brush? Are you a painting cultivator?” Madam Chun’s interest was immediately piqued.

Madam Chun, the owner of the spirit beast shop, was a peak Nascent Soul cultivator, half-step into the Deity Transformation stage.

Though she had a stunning appearance, she only displayed the cultivation level of an early Foundation Establishment cultivator.

Seeing Wen Shu nod, Madam Chun stretched lazily, stood up slowly, and glanced at the two curiously. Her tone was languid as she asked, “Who’s your master?”

“That’s a secret,” Wen Shu whispered. Even though the shop was nearly empty and closing soon, she had no intention of revealing her master’s name.

Madam Chun studied her carefully, taking a slow breath and letting out a misty exhale.

Her gaze grew distant as if lost in memory, and she said, “Painting cultivators are rare in this day and age. But many years ago, I knew someone who practiced the painting path…”

She quickly snapped out of her reverie and continued, “There are many types of spirit hairs. You can’t handle high-grade spirit hairs because you’re only at the Qi Refinement stage. I have two types that would suit you: Flamefeather Wolf Hair and Springstep Deer Hair.”

Wen Xuening and Wen Shu expressed their gratitude to her, carefully stored the spirit hair, and then departed.

Back in their courtyard, Wen Xuening approached the forging process with far more care than she had with the mid-grade spirit weapons.

Instead of purchasing ordinary spirit spring water from the treasure pavilion, she secretly took some from her personal spatial realm.

With Wen Shu standing guard outside, Wen Xuening didn’t have to worry about exposure. She carefully controlled the heat, slowly refining the spirit stone brush handle.

The forging process took the entire night. As dawn approached, Wen Xuening finally emerged from the room.

She couldn’t explain how she had forged a high-grade spirit brush using materials meant for a low-grade spirit weapon.

She knew it was due to the spirit spring water from her spatial realm, but she couldn’t reveal that.

Instead, she excitedly said to Wen Shu, “Shu Shu, I think… I’ve forged a low-grade spirit tool!”
